Nokia Sues Apple For Patent Voilation

In a press release yesterday, Nokia have confirmed that they have filed a complaint against Apple with the Federal District Court in Delaware, alleging that Apple's iPhone infringes Nokia patents for GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards.

Nokia claim that they have spent a a lot of time in R&D of these technologies and it is impossible to build a modern GSM phone without making use of these technologies. According o them, Apple have used some of Nokia's GSM, UMTS and WLAN patented technologies in all of the three generations of the iPhone, but they seem to be refusing to pay any licensing fees.

As a result of this news, there was decline seen in the share price of Apple. Now either Apple is playing dirty or they have found something which they obviously do not want to share with rest of the world.
