Heavy rains have been lashing Chandigarh and surrounding areas since Tuesday night, flooding the streets and causing huge traffic snarls. Office-goers had a tough time reaching their destination with most of the roads waterlogged.
The Met office recorded 101 mm of rainfall on Wednesday and the bulk of rain was received between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
Heavy waterlogging was reported from several parts of the tri city and worst affected areas of Chandigarh were the Sector 17,18,21 and 22.
The rains ahve also caused a massive drop in temprature of almost 8 degrees and at 24 degrees people were releaved of the hot summer temprature due to late arrivals of monsoon rains.
Met officials have said that there are no indications of the monsoon withdrawing from the country at present and the tri city will be facing rains for other 24 hours atleast.
