Sony Addressing Firmware 3.00 Problems News

Last week reports in internet emerged about possible glitch in Sony's Firmware 3.00 update for PS3 that left some gamers complaining about unresponsive DualShock 3 controllers after downloading the update.

Despite the lack of an official comment from Sony at the time and assertions from the company's customer care hotline that this was all news to them, Sony has now come out and stated that it is "looking into the matter".

This is what Patrick Seybold has posted as official response "SCEA is aware of reports that PS3 owners are experiencing isolated issues with their PS3 system since installing the most recent system software update (v3.00). Rest assured that we are looking into the matter and will provide an update here as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience, as it’s our mission to deliver the best consumer experience on all PlayStation platforms."

Discussion on the official PS3 boards has suggested that a possible reason for the malfunctioning DualShock 3 controllers is that they are counterfeited goods.
